Meet Mo
Homegrown Leadership, Real Results
Meet Mo Baydoun
Mo Baydoun is a proud lifelong resident of Dearborn Heights. As a graduate of Crestwood Public Schools, Mo understands firsthand the values that define this community: hard work, resilience, and a deep sense of pride. Today, he and his wife, Dr. Laila Baydoun, are raising their two children, Ali and Madina, in the very city that shaped him.
Mo’s commitment to public service is profound. He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University, which laid the foundation for his leadership style, rooted in accountability, community-first thinking, and tangible results. His experience spans both the public and private sectors: as a small business owner, he knows the challenges that local families and entrepreneurs face, and as a Wayne County Sheriff Reserve Officer, he has helped protect and serve on the front lines.
Since being elected to the Dearborn Heights City Council, where he currently serves as Council Chair, Mo has led with a hands-on and approachable style, whether riding along with snowplow drivers to ensure safe streets, advocating for infrastructure upgrades at senior and recreation centers, or campaigning for safer traffic signals—he believes in showing up, doing the work, and putting residents first.
Mo’s leadership is built on strong local roots, genuine accessibility, and unwavering dedication to the people of Dearborn Heights. He remains committed to earning the trust of his neighbors every day through action, service, and an open-door approach to governance.
